Ever since watching Fantastic Mr. Fox a few weeks ago, I have developed a ridiculous obsession with Fox inspired jewellery. With the peak of the fox dream being the discovery of some fox earrings. Odette Ny seems to have the right idea with her quirky pieces that remind me of Pamela Love's designs but less dramatic and threatening to wear. The Arrow ring is being advertised as a 'Valentines' piece, but to be honest, it just looks perfect. Shame about the price tag..

So this photo is taken when I went to Whitstable at the weekend to seek out Jumble Sale pieces of heaven. However, the Jumble sale consisted of a few tables and old women selling Jam. So, @rachelmaydownes and Myself took too the charity shops and thank God we did... I found this real sheepskin coat for £10, it must have been hundreds. But I cannot take it off. Do you like it? My friend is vegan but had to agree it did look nice on. And as one must do, we sat on the beach eating chips drinking tea and watching the gloomy sunset. What have you been doing?

Are you like me and have had this album on repeat since it was released? I have been broken and am now paying for spotify unlimited to listen to it over and over and over. Opening my front door to find this little delight waiting for me was one of the best feelings I have had in ages. I went to an International school and as a result my best friend lives in Hamburg. It's very annoying not being able to see her every day, but the letter love that she throws my way makes up for it. She had left the bracelet in the letter with our initials inside of it. It's my new fave. I miss that girl. Do any of you write letters still? Or are we just old fashioned?

one. I saw an article on this photo series taken by Photography duo Jeremy Floto and Cassandra Warner (Floto + Warner) on Honestly WTF. A new favourite blog of mine. Their work is set in stark landscapes and abandoned buildings infiltrated with colourful smoke drifting through the scenes.

two. They also directed one of the music videos for Bon Iver's new album, Holocene. It is really beautiful. With every play, the songs just keep growing on me. It is lovely. Do you hate it?

one. I had some visitors last week. My Dad and Trudi came down to Canterbury and we went to Whitstable which is one of my favourite places. The sky and sea looked eerie, ridiculously beautiful but so very odd. It was lovely to see them, eat fish and chips, wander around Whitstable and generally be in their presence.
two. I wore a Uniqlo shirt, with my denim shorts, denim jacket, cape coat, new Topshop boots and my new scarf. Which Trudi had just bought me from a charity shop for a pound, completely my new favourite thing.
three. Completely lusting after the new Lomography analog recorder. Absolutely excellent. The videos all seem effortlessly beautiful.

one. So some of you asked me in the comments to see my room. Until I sort the rest of it out, here is a little snapshot. The quality is not very good, as it is just off my macbook, mid skype session. I will take more to show you, but truth be told, I've been running around recently. Fitting in work, going out and trying to make myself presentable is all a bit much.. My walls are getting a bit ridiculous, they are completely plastered with photos of my nearest and dearest. I hadn't realised how creepy all of the faces must appear till moments ago. Ah well.

two. I am very content in Canterbury. I missed my friends from home a lot in the beginning, but I think I am just getting used to it. Need to just keep on top of my work now.. one. Not only is the title based on the beautiful Bombay Bicycle Club song 'lights out, words gone', but you probably have noticed I have changed the title of the blog. Toying with the idea of getting a url but I am not sure. I just needed a fresh start. It all got a little bit monotonous. Do you like it?
two. Back home for the weekend. I have an art trip with my Uni on Monday so I thought I might as well head back to London. It's so hot here! Canterbury has the hottest weather in the country in that little heat wave, so I think I must be missing some better weather back home.
three. I have no internet at my house at the moment, the result of 4 freshers in a house with these conditions means that blogging has gone out of the window in the last few weeks. Do forgive me. I have returned.
four. Can these delightful rays of sunshine leave now please? Is it just me or are you cradling your autumnal wardrobe pieces and thick wooly tights for dear life? I am bored of looking like a vampire.. Yes I didn't tan over the summer and I thought by now that fact would be deeply covered up by about 4 layers. Just me?

001. So I had a beautiful day at Whitstable in the English summer sun the other day. First hot day in forever. I ate oysters, drank too much wine, sat on the beach and contemplated everything that is going on at the moment watching the sun go down. I wore a floral playsuit from a vintage stall at Secret Garden Party Festival in 2008, Denim shirt that was my mums and some sandals from Primark.

002. Whitstable is one of my favourite beaches in the whole of the country. End of. Have you been? I keep seeing people tweet about it but have never seen anyone I know.. How odd.

003. Also I got my results from studying the International Baccalaureate and I'm currently waiting for the results of my remarks... Dying inside with the anticipation of waiting to see whether I can go to York. Fingers crossed!

001. So I have returned from yet again some of the best days of the year at Secret Garden Party Festival with my friends. Every year it some how seems to surpass itself which leaves me with this terrible post-sgp-depression. From frolicking in a paint fight, to swimming in a lake, blowing kisses at martha reeves and the vandellas, dancing till dawn in the remix bubble, watching blondie being beautiful and holding each other while the fireworks went off on my birthday. Have you been to/are going to any festivals?

001. So for those people that didn't get my title lyrics, they are from Mr. Brightside by the Killers, who I went to see at Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park this time last week. Whilst having seen them before a few years ago, I was more excited as my Dad had got the tickets as a surprise for my 18th birthday present. 001. Wore this outfit going to see Gomez at The Junction in Cambridge, which was a m a z i n g. One of the singers, Ben Ottewell has such a dreamy voice. My outfit consists of a Vintage denim jacket, French Connection summer dress and H&M fedora hat. Have you gone to any incredible gigs recently? I am desperate to get some tickets for Arctic Monkey's, but the price tag is a bit excessive for my poor student budget.

002. As you can see in the last picture I have been selling things on eBay... Whilst all was going well, I reached my designer limit, so things aren't being listed as well as they could. It is a total wardrobe clear out before I go to University in September.. I woke up this morning at my friend Eliza's house, ate breakfast with my pretty friends, got my act together and headed down to the car boot sale. Because I don't know about you, but sunday mornings equate to carbooting escapades. The lovely weather meant that it was pretty busy and I picked up some bargains, including a beautiful leather backpack for £2!

Autumn winter seems to be focused on a mix between looking like a war child and a small wild animal. A look I seemed to perfected the other night going out for a curry, when I realised if I had a gas mask, I would of looked right as home in 1920's war torn Britain. Despite this, I am totally in love with the thigh high woolen socks, army style dresses and brogues galore.

So, I'm now 17. It was my birthday on the 23rd July, I spent my birthday at the Secret Garden Party Festival 2010, which I think I have rambled on enough about on here, for you to know what it is. But for those of you who don't, its a four day festival, for partying till dawn, covering yourselves in glitter, swimming in a lake (maybe naked if your hippy enough), being badly behaved and just generally spending time with amazing people. JAPAN SUSHI AND HUMIDITY

Sorry for how long its taken me to update you, with what I have been up to, I went to japan for 11 days and I have queued some posts that will be published whilst I am in vancouver for two weeks. So enjoy! These are just a few moments from my trip to Tokyo and then to northern japan to a city called Sendai, with two classmates and my teacher, it included work experience and two homestays. It has to be one of the most brilliant experiences of my whole life, I absolutley loved every minute of it. So I have become aware that my current ‘bowl’ haircut is looking more and more like all of the odd characters in Lady Gaga’s newest music video, Alejandro. I’m not sure how i feel about this, I’m ridiculously tempted to start to grow it, so it’s long by the start of the next school year, but I’m not sure. What do you think?

the summer sun has made me all crazy hazy, but now the rain has come and i have realised that i have a massive amount of work to do! i have written so many essays over the past few days ugh. i went to a bbq last night at my friends house which was really lovely, its making me excited for the summer.

lusting after these alexander wang, bad boys. i went to a carboot with two of my friends the other day in search for some jeans to cut, i ended up buying a pair of  for £1 which i have hacked up. sorry for the rubbish photos, but i killed my macbook :'(
step one. try them on and make notes with a pen where you want to cut

step two. cut them slightly too long leaving like an inch extra

step three. using some wonderweb underneath the folds, iron them in place so they dont keep falling down

i think i am going to distress them more with a scalpel and some sandpaper, like these ones on park and cube. they put alexander wang's to shame.

oh hello sun! ive just got back from a car boot with the fam and then chilling in the town park with some choc ices, this weekend has been really lush.

i bought a sailor style dress of ebay the other week, which finally arrived! what do you think? ill put some pictures up of me wearing it soon, these are from the item description though.. im not sure how to wear it, i kind of want to wear it really dressed down all the time.. but we'll see i guess. was sort of going for the whole, alexa chung look, but if you have any ideas, let me know!

weekend consisted of helping backstage, at a show at my school, with a killer migraine on friday night, then saturday night at simpsons, which was really lovely. dancing to the libertines, then realising that the sun is coming up.. what are we like. it was really lovely though, lapping up all the time i can with them, such a pain in the arse we dont go to the same school anymore :'( but on a brighter note, what did you do with your weekend?
